I am a freshman at LSU. I want to get involved with AED, but I know I cannot become an "official" member until I have completed three semester hours. However, is it possible for me to attend the meetings and such so that I can be better prepared?
Yes, freshmen are invited to join as "associate members." For the most part they get the same privalages of being a full member, plus the prestige + right to claim (on resumes for example) that they are members of AED. If you apply as a first semester freshman, there is no GPA requirement (because you don't have one yet). Meeting and Service point requirements are the same. (also there is a one-time $5 application fee for Assoc membership.) You may download an associate application here: http://www.biology.lsu.edu/organizations/a...iate_member.pdf Tommy |
