1) New possible ongoing activity (3 hours= 1 pt):
o Best Buddies is a dynamic program that works to enhance the lives
of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities
for one-to-one friendships. The program works by matching college
students (like you!) with individuals in the community who have
mild to moderate intellectual disabilities for weekly contact. LSU
is holding an Informational Meeting for all interested students on
Tuesday, October 2 at 4:30 pm in Coates 143. It may sound simple,
but by just being a friend to someone with an intellectual
disability, you can change that person’s world! For more
information, contact Tim Durel at tdurel2@lsu.edu.
o After the meeting if you would like to volunteer, please let us know.

2) Remember the SVP Thrift store is open 9-5 M-Sat and the BR Food
Bank is open 8-4 M-F if you would like to go on your own time for
service points.

3) Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 5th still has a
few openings left (mostly morning shifts). Email me at
ckling3@lsu.edu if you would like to volunteer.

4) Directions to events are usually sent out prior to the
event. However, please check the directions or print your own map
out to make sure you understand where you are going.
